I’m co-chairing Give Breast Cancer the Boot for UCSF. It will be a fantastic evening on April 23rd at The General’s Residence in Fort Mason. 6:30pm. It specifically raises funds for Laura Esseman and for a competitive grant process for the tremendous oncologists and doctors in the breast care center.
Obviously the cause is terribly close to home, but I’m also passionate about the work they are doing because it is so innovative and has scale across all cancer treatments. They are working on precision medicine, more personalized cancer treatment, and a faster track to drug approvals. Since I’m at the mercy of faster drug discovery and great drugs, I’m a huge fan of the change Laura, Hope Rugo and team are driving through things like the cutting edge I-spy trial
We will have a formal save the date out soon and I will add links for giving. We will welcome http://www.ucsfhealth.org/clinics/carol_franc_buck_breast_care_center/oth corporate sponsorship and personal gifts. There will be some fun music due to some of our band members traveling we can’t play that night but I will probably join whoever we hire to sing a few songs
I love the light in the Presidio and the explosively vibrant green after the rain. This was from one of my first short walks in months. I was slow, but it felt good to be back on the trail. Hopefully my platelets hold up in today’s blood test. I have thrown up a few times and am super fatigued, but otherwise handling the drug well. CT scan will be Feb 1st and will be informative.
